Current situation

In 1988-1989, af­­ter the resi­dents of Agh­kil­sa village we­re deported from Armenia, Arme­nian van­dals al­so destro­yed the monu­ment on the gra­ve of Ashig Alasgar

Information:

Ashig Alasgar, the luminary of Azer­baijani ashig art, was born in 1821 in Aghkilsa village, Basarkecher district (Vardenis district since 1969), Goycha mahal, Iravan khanate. He died in the village where he was born in 1926. He was buried in the cemetery of Aghkilsa village where he was born. After 1988, the gravestone monument of the master, which became a pilgrimage, was destro­yed by Dashnak vandals.
