Information:

A tower in the village of Chikdamal in the modern Hamamli (Spitak) district of Alexandropol uezd of Iravan governorate. In the village there are remains of the tower walls dating back to the 1st millennium BC. Armenians were moved here from Maku governorate of Iran in 1828-1829. Apart from Armenians, 7 Azerbaijanis lived here in 1897. They were forced out of the village at the beginning of the 20th century. Armenians live there now. It is a toponym with a complex structure based on relief. Arm. SSR AS RH was renamed as Areveshog by the decree of January 25, 1978344.

The toponym is formed from the combination of words chik, which means "border", "term" in Turkish, and the word dam, which means "house, building", "one or two sides open, covered place, building", "stake, digging" in Azerbaijani. The "al" at the end is a topoformant. The word "Chak" is also used in the sense of "narrow valley" and means "house, settlement, village located on the border". The information shows that the tower is the ancient cultural heritage of Azerbaijan.
