Current situation

The remains are left on the right bank of the Gighi River, 28 km northwest of the city of Gafan.

Information:

It is an ancient historic village. Azer­baijanis have always lived in the village. There were many ancient historical mo­numents or their remains in Gighi vil­lage. The most important of these mo­numents are the 10th-century Gighi Cast­le and the remains of the Gighi Mosque, which is a brilliant example of medieval Muslim architecture.
