Current situation

The caravanserai near Jil village was used as a warehouse for a while during the Soviet era. The caravanserai, which was not repaired by the Armenians, blew up and collapsed, leaving ruins in the area where it was located.

Information:

As noted by foreign travelers, "Caravanserais of a slightly different shape, located at a certain distance from each other, were found along the road. These buildings were built of big and large hewn stones. Their roofs are flat and their rooms are vaulted. Caravanserais have towers on four sides, which make them not only a shelter for caravans, but also a means of defense against robbers.'' The caravansary around the village of Jil was also a one-story caravansary built in this manner.

The caravanserai is located on the side of a busy road. The settlement of merchants, travelers, researchers and people of many categories from different regions and their socio-economic relationship with the population had a great impact on the socio-economic development of the village and its surrounding areas.
