On 07.11.1995, Gafan, Sisian, Meghri, Gorus districts were cancelled and Sunik district was established. Garakilsa district - from 01.03.1940 - Sisian, Urud village - from 03.07.1968 - was named Vo­ro­tan.

Current situation

Urud village mos­que was burned in 1918 as a result of Armenian attacks. It re­mained in ruins even in 1988.

Information:

In the lower part of the village, a mosque, a place of worship of the population, functioned as a center of religious knowledge. Mosques and madrasa cells from the time of Tsarist Russia were also destroyed, traces of gra­ves with ancient patterns and inscrip­tions remained. The Uchtepa plateau in the north of this village was also the trenches of Gachag Nabi
